What Are Hydrosols?

Hydrosols, also known as floral waters, plant waters, or distillates, are the aromatic water-based byproducts of steam distillation during the essential oil extraction process. Unlike essential oils, hydrosols are much milder, water-soluble, and safe for direct use on the skin. They contain microparticles of essential oil along with the plant’s water-soluble compounds, making them gentle yet therapeutic and effective.
